Statements from the Board Chairman

On behalf of the Board of Directors I wish to take this opportunity to thank in a special way the Government of United Republic of Tanzania for the opportunity extended to us through various projects our company was privileged to participate. We are as well thankful to our associates and other consulting firms we worked with during the past period (midterm strategy) that ended in 2020. My sincere gratitude is sent to the Management of Canarail Consultancy Inc. of Canada for awarding us Sub-Consultancy Services to Bridge Capacity Rating Project under Tanzania Railway Company in 2015. In the year 2017, Canarail Consultancy Inc. once again awarded our company ‘Sub-Consultancy Services for the Design and Production of Tender Documents for Central Railway Line Bridges and Culverts’ both projects being under Tanzania Intermodal & Railway Development Project (TIRP) funded by the World Bank.

The company performance in the past three years was partly impacted by the global pandemic that was brought by COVID 19 and largely affected by the Government of United Republic of Tanzania decision that restricted Public Institutions from investing in commercial structures especially those falling under real estate business. UNDI Consulting Group Ltd had largely depended on real estate government projects that generated almost 60% of the revenue. Since the beginning of the new period in 2021, projects that kept the company busy were those on completion stage mostly funded by government institutions. Two projects namely College of Education (10,000 students college) and College of Informatics & Virtual Education (3,000 students College) both funded by Public Social Security Pensions Fund (PSSSF) meant for University of Dodoma were closed in 2021. In the same vein, a 30 storey RITA Tower built along Azikiwe/Makunganya streets in Dar es Salaam was closed in the second quarter of 2022.

Among the prestigious design works awarded to the company recently includes the multi-billion shillings office buildings project developed by the Government of United Republic of Tanzania that was assigned to the company in August 2020. Our company role is in the Design and Production of Tender Documents for 21 New Government Ministries Office Buildings. Project construction is currently ongoing at Mtumba located 17 kilometers from Dodoma capital city center. Lead Consultants to the project are Tanzania Building Agency (TBA) whereby UNDI Consulting Group Ltd serves as Domestic Sub-Consultants.

The company current mid-term strategy that span five years (2021-2025) takes on board lessons learnt in the past. Our focus now is on both privately funded and government projects while teaming with local and international firms. The plan is to participate mostly in the country projects as well as other projects falling within the East Africa region. Major involvement shall be on infrastructure development projects, industries, mining, real estate and agricultural development.
